Harbour Attendant - Gorey

Ports of Jersey is seeking a friendly and reliable Harbour Attendant to support the day‑to‑day operation of the historic Gorey Harbour during the busy summer season. 

 

This seasonal, people‑focused role plays an important part in maintaining the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that makes Gorey such a special place to visit. Acting as a visible and approachable presence on the harbour, the Harbour Attendant provides a warm welcome to visiting mariners, supports local boat users and helps ensure the harbour continues to feel safe, well‑run and enjoyable for everyone. 

 

The postholder will be sworn in as Acting Harbour Master through the Royal Court and will work on a seasonal basis from May to September, averaging around eight hours per week. The role offers flexibility and is ideally suited to someone who enjoys being outdoors, values good conversation and takes pride in being an active part of their local community.
