The Capital District YMCA is seeking an innovative and dynamic individual to lead our signature Black & Latino Achievers, Youth & Government, and Leader's Club Programs. These programs welcome students from all backgrounds, and helps them develop skills, raise their academic standards, graduate from high school, and focus on career goals.  The Senior Program Director is responsible for ensuring exceptional programs and services that support the priority area of Youth Development – the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical processes that all youth uniquely experience from birth to career.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • BA/BS in Human Services/Community Development or a related field or equivalent experience.

  • Three to five years professional experience in the management of YMCA programs, community development, or comparable youth programming.

  • Proven competence in community development, board development, program development, community collaborations, staff coaching, marketing, and financial development.

  • Proven success in building and sustaining strong collaborations, leading community-wide initiatives, working with elected officials, and representing the Association in key community initiatives.

  • Excellent human relation skills and strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of the YMCA and its capacity to build strong kids, families, and communities, with the deep ability to articulate and model the YMCA’s four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated passion for youth success and growth.

This is a full-time exempt position with full benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Pension, 403B, Tuition Reimbursement and more).
