Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Assists the health center manager to ensure integration of new staff are completed and thorough
- →Partners with health center manager to ensure that staff are fully trained to handle all responsibilities
- →Ensures that all staff interactions and client services are client-centered and consistent with mission, core values and cultural/linguistic competence objectives
- →Coordinates scheduling of clinical staff, including contract personnel as needed to maintain patient service delivery
- →Participates in and supports the agency’s mission and all the medical services provided at PPSNE health centers including family planning services, women’s health screenings, STI and HIV testing and treatment services, contraceptive services and in-clinic and abortion by pill services
- →Provides direct patient care
- →Fosters a “total agency” mentality and a culture where staff feel appreciated and recognized
- →Maintains a volunteer staff to assist the center; works well with volunteers to achieve the agency’s mission
- Works with health center manager to develop center’s budget and provides monthly oversight
- In conjunction with the health center manager, monitors health center business results and analyzes data to identify trends and ways to improve results and to inform future decision-making; develops approaches to respond to trends
- Collects and reports center’s monthly statistical data on patient visits, services provided and staffing patterns
- Partners with the health center manager in leading staff in identifying new customer and process priorities for the year through the annual planning process
- Partners with the health center manager around health center goals, objectives and progress
- Maintains a professional image for the center (staff appearance, customer service approaches, physical space)
- Supports the goals of quality improvement work by participating in audits and collaborating with clinical services management – assists the health center manager with monitoring of daily, monthly, and quarterly quality improvement audits and logs
- In conjunction with the health center manager, maintains state licensure and completes all responsibilities according to established protocols, policies, and standard practices in the areas of customer service, quality assurance and regulatory compliance programs such as HIPAA (Health Information Portability & Accountability Act), OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act), and CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Administration)
- Assists the health center manager in identifying and maintaining regular contact with community leaders, groups, and organizations to share information about PPSNE and it services, to identify new patient sources, and to promote the mission through networking
- May help manage a residency program, student externs and/or health center volunteers
- Serves as a role model to staff and peers in business ethics, integrity, customer service and recovery skills
- Serves as a liaison between the health center and other departments and centers in the agency
- Participates in agency initiatives through work groups outside of the center as needed
- Supports and leads team through constant changes
- Monitors additional responsibilities of the health centers advanced clinic assistants in conjunction with the health center manager
- Supports efforts to provide services that are culturally and linguistically competent; takes the initiative to develop own awareness and knowledge of diversity matters
- Demonstrates flexibility and teamwork; understands the interaction between this position and others with whom the position works directly and indirectly

- Excellent customer service/communication skills; ability to provide quality services to meet individual patient needs
- Must be in alignment with, routinely demonstrate and lead staff around agency’s mission, services, core values and diversity philosophy – able to function in a non-judgmental manner with diverse clients staff, and volunteers
- Ability to lead a strong, highly functional team; desire to work as part of an interdisciplinary team to meet the needs of patients and staff
- Attention to detail and ability to create, follow, and monitor processes and procedures from beginning to end within established time frames
- Strong analytical ability; able to grasp data and systems; must be able to learn, use and train others on technology
- Understanding of Windows-based word processing, automated data spreadsheets and the Internet
- Ability to help staff manage work and personal life balance matters
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred
- At least 1 to 2 year(s) of clinical services or health center experience
