Leads Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) for the company, including budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, performance analysis, decision support, and oversight of regional divisional controllers. Partners with senior leadership and operating teams to improve financial performance, strengthen controls, and support the company’s strategic objectives.

 

Responsibilities

Lead the annual budgeting process, periodic forecasts, long-range financial planning, and scenario analysis across the company’s divisions and plants. Establish planning calendars, assumptions, templates, and review standards to deliver accurate and timely financial budgets and forecasts.

 

Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting, including consolidated financial results, forecasts, key performance indicators, and clear explanations of performance versus budget, forecast, and prior year.

 

Manage, coach, and develop the regional divisional controllers. Set expectations and priorities, coordinate recurring close and reporting activities, review divisional financial submissions, and promote consistent accounting, forecasting, and performance-management practices across locations.

 

Partner with regional divisional controllers and operational leaders to analyze financial results and other strategic business drivers. Translate financial results into actionable insights and recommendations.

 

Maintain financial models and perform scenario, sensitivity, investment, and return analyses to support strategic initiatives, pricing decisions, capital allocation, productivity programs, and other business opportunities.

 

Drive standardization and continuous improvement of planning, reporting, and analytics processes, including data governance, dashboard design, automation, and effective use of financial systems and business intelligence tools.

 

Collaborate with Corporate, divisional, and plant teams to strengthen financial discipline, internal controls, forecast accountability, and decision-making. Ensure risks, opportunities, and required corrective actions are clearly communicated and followed through.

 

Support mergers and acquisitions through financial due diligence, valuation and modeling, synergy assessment, integration planning, and post-acquisition performance tracking in coordination with the broader transaction team.

 

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, accounting standards, and applicable regulatory requirements; coordinate with Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, and external auditors as needed.

Lead and develop the corporate finance team through clear goals, regular feedback, succession planning, cross-training, and a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management.

 

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

CPA, CMA, MBA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

Minimum of seven years of progressive experience in FP&A, accounting, corporate finance, or a related field.

Demonstrated experience leading budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial analysis in a multi-site or divisional organization; manufacturing experience preferred.

Proven ability to interpret financial statements, identify business drivers and emerging issues, build actionable financial models, and communicate recommendations to senior management.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial statements, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, contracts, and government regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, vendors, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, volume, and net present value.  Ability to evaluate financial alternatives and recognize and interpret financial trends and performance.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience using ERP, financial planning, consolidation, reporting, and business intelligence systems.

Ability to develop integrated financial models, analyze large data sets, define key performance indicators, and convert complex information into concise management insights.

Working knowledge of manufacturing finance, including standard costing, inventory, productivity, capital expenditures, working capital, and plant-level performance measurement.

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, management accounting, financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and internal controls.

Demonstrated confidence, sound judgment, and a consistent leadership style with an appropriate level of professional assertiveness. Professional appearance and conduct consistent with a managerial representative.

 

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

The performance of the Manager - Finance and FP&A will be measured as follows:

 

Operating standards - The employee will be expected to meet or exceed standards for forecast accuracy, timeliness and quality of management reporting, insight generation, financial control, business partnership, team leadership, process improvement, and achievement of company and divisional financial objectives. Such standards will be set annually and communicated to the manager.

 

Personal growth - Each year there will be professional goals developed and agreed to by the manager.

 

Employee relations – The employee will be evaluated regarding his/her skills and advancements in the areas of motivational techniques and results, positive and corrective/constructive feedback, subordinate development and creating a positive work environment.

 

Creativity – This will be evaluated by how active the employee is in participating in advancing the business through new and innovative ideas.
