Location: Onsite – Oakhurst, CA

JOB SUMMARY
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and orderly environments across multiple Tribal facilities, including Tribal Government Offices, Social Services Offices, and Grandmother’s Village (Elder Housing), as well as Tribal fleet vehicles. This position performs routine custodial duties and provides light maintenance support as needed to ensure facilities and vehicles are well-kept, operational, and presentable for staff, residents, and visitors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Performs routine cleaning of offices, restrooms, and common areas
- Sweeps, mops, vacuums, dusts, and sanitizes surfaces
- Restocks supplies and removes trash and recycling
- Maintains floors and cleans windows, glass, and entryways
- Cleans and maintains Tribal fleet vehicles, including interior and basic exterior cleaning
- Performs light maintenance such as basic repairs and routine replacements
- Reports maintenance or safety issues to appropriate staff
- Assists with basic setups, moves, and general facility support
- Travels between assigned locations to complete work
- Ensures work is completed safely and to standard
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of custodial or janitorial experience
- Basic understanding of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 pounds and being on feet for extended periods
- Ability to work independently and manage time across multiple locations
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in multiple facilities or route-based roles
- Experience working in residential or elder housing environments
- Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and minor repair work

TRIBAL PREFERENCE STATEMENT:
In accordance with applicable Tribal law and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians (PRCI) Administration provides employment preference to enrolled PRCI Tribal Members. To qualify, applicants must submit valid proof of enrollment. Tribal Members who meet the minimum qualifications will be given preference in hiring, promotion, transfer, and layoff decisions. During the interview process, PRCI Tribal Members will receive an additional 7.5 points (10% of the 75-point interview rubric). Non-PRCI Native American candidates will receive an additional 5 points (6.7% of the total points) in accordance with Indian Preference guidelines.
INDIAN PREFERENCE STATEMENT:
In compliance with 25 CFR Part 276 and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Sections 701(b) and 703(i), employment preference shall be given to qualified applicants who are enrolled members of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians, and secondarily, to another qualified American Indian/Alaska Native Candidate.
