Any unsolicited resume submitted to staff will be considered property of Platte River Power Authority and with no obligation to pay any referral fees.   Job summary   Platte River is looking for a Warehouse Specialist to support inventory and warehouse operations at our Headquarters location in Fort Collins, CO. This position serves as the sole individual responsible for managing inventory at both the Headquarters warehouse and the offsite Boyd Substation warehouse in Loveland, CO. The Warehouse Specialist works independently with minimal supervision and plays a critical role in ensuring accurate inventory control, efficient material flow, and reliable customer service across the organization. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, technically proficient in ERP-based inventory systems, and comfortable collaborating with a wide range of internal stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for an inventory professional who enjoys ownership, problem-solving, and working closely with people.   This position is 100% onsite at Platte River’s Headquarters and is not eligible for remote or hybrid scheduling.   This posting will close no later than May 10, 2026.   Essential duties and responsibilities   Models the mission, vision, values and culture of the organization Coordinates with purchasing on inventory levels, stock movements, and replenishment activities, conducting weekly cycle counts, audits, and inventory checks to maintain accurate inventory records to prevent running out of stock or overstocking Troubleshoots, researches and resolves all inventory quantity discrepancies in the Oracle ERP system Processes all inventory issue confirmations several times per day in the Oracle ERP system, while verifying the information is accurate prior to processing Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers Responsible for performing the receiving process on all deliveries and ensuring completeness of incoming shipments of materials Inspects and verifies incoming deliveries against the purchase order and packing slip and resolves any issues from damage or other shipping discrepancies Plans and coordinates the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods and materials, optimizing warehouse layout, storage systems, and workflow to maximize space utilization and productivity Monitors and processes all backordered inventory requests Maintains relationships with carriers and monitors delivery schedules to and from the warehouse Assembles shelves and ensures proper stocking of inventory to maintain an organized warehouse Tracks and maintains accurate records of all inventories by taking digital pictures and tracking into the Oracle ERP system Serves as courier to transport and distribute products, parts, and supplies from warehouse locations to requestors based on requisition information Ensures warehouse is clean and well organized, to facilitate daily operations, and ensure safety Operates forklift or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store inventory materials Collaborates with purchasing and accounts payable departments to resolve issues with invoices Ensures timely processing of outgoing shipments Provides backup coverage and supports for basic purchasing activities that include, but not limited to, processing purchasing order requests, locating vendors for materials, equipment, supplies or services and vendor record management. Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for all warehouse and purchasing related software, including training of all such software   Other functions   Provides backup coverage and support for other warehouse locations within the organization Assists with disposal of surplus/obsolete materials Attends department and safety meetings and trainings Performs other duties as assigned   Supervisory controls   This position has no supervisory or lead role responsibilities   Knowledge, skills, and abilities   Above average use of computers, Microsoft Office products and ERP software Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals Ability to create and edit process documents Ability to understand, learn, use and train on the Oracle ERP system Ability to use, train and enforce all warehouse and purchasing processes Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers Ability to maintain effective working relationships Ability to safely use a forklift and other equipment Ability to walk or stand most of each day Skilled in planning and organization Skilled in critical thinking and problem solving Ability to adapt to process changes   Qualifications   Required education and licenses High School diploma, GED or equivalent   Required work experience One year of prior experience working as warehouse clerk, purchasing clerk, shipping/receiving clerk, or similar role in inventory management, warehouse management or purchasing Experience working with inventory management software Intermediate experience using all Microsoft Office products Current forklift operator certification or ability to obtain one in house Ability to work more than 40 hours a week, when required   Preferred education, licenses and work experience Three or more years of experience working in warehouse or purchasing Experience using an inventory barcoding system Experience using Oracle ERP systems   Physical demands   Moderate to considerable physical effort that includes working from ladders in awkward positions. Frequent use of light or medium weight objects (e.g., 25-50 lbs) and use of medium weight tools.   Hazards   Occasional hazards that are predictable or well protected against.   Work environment   Potentially exposed to hazardous conditions that my lead to workplace injury such as working in heights, exposure to fly ash or energized electrical equipment   Pay   Salaries are paid bi-weekly and are annualized below for reference. Factors that may be used to determine actual salary include specific skills, years of experience, education, and certifications.     Full range: $69,600 to $90,578 Hiring range: $69,600 to $80,089
