Intelligent Exception Management: Deploy AI-driven tools and agentic workflows to automate the investigation of payment failures and clearing discrepancies, significantly reducing manual "toil".
Predictive Fraud & Velocity Controls: Partner with Risk and Data Science teams to integrate machine learning models into the payment flow to identify high-risk transactions before settlement.
Process Mining: Utilize process mining and automation (e.g., Power Automate) to identify bottlenecks in the payment lifecycle and re-engineer workflows for maximum "Straight-Through Processing" (STP)
Regulatory Guardian: Ensure all payment activities remain in strict compliance with FINTRAC, Payments Canada rules, and OSFI guidelines.
Incident Response Leadership: Serve as the operational lead for payment-related system incidents, ensuring rapid recovery and transparent communication to the Product and Sales teams.
Team Leadership: Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of Payment Operations Specialists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and "radical candor"
So are YOU our next Senior Manager, Payments? You are if you…
Have 7+ years of experience in Banking Operations, specifically focused on Canadian payment systems and clearing.
Have 5+ years of people management experience
