Health & wellbeing resources and programs  Paid vacation, personal, and sick days for work-life balance Competitive compensation and benefits packages Work-life balance in a hybrid environment with at least 3 days in office Career growth and development opportunities Opportunities to contribute to community causes Work with diverse team members in an inclusive and collaborative environment   This job posting is for an existing vacancy.   We’re looking for our next Senior Software Engineer. Could It Be You?   We're building the next-generation Loan Origination System for Questbank's Secured Lending business — a distributed, event-sourced platform that powers how we take a loan from application to funding. It's a microservices architecture on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), designed from the ground up with Domain-Driven Design, Event Sourcing, and CQRS.   As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you'll be a senior individual contributor who owns a domain end to end — from technical decisions, architecture, and code reviews to production incidents. You'll work across a .NET backend and an Angular frontend, shaping the technical direction of your domain and influencing architecture decisions across services. Operating in a complex, regulated financial services and mortgage servicing environment, curiosity about business context matters as much as technical skill: we need someone who thinks like an owner, understands the business problem behind the ticket, and helps shape the product rather than just executing work.   Need more details? Keep reading… In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to: Owning your domain end-to-end, taking direct accountability for architecture decisions, technical quality, code reviews, and production incidents. Owning the technical architecture within your domain — leading design reviews and contributing to cross-team architectural decisions Building and maintaining production-grade REST APIs using .NET and C#; work across the stack including micro frontend components where needed Driving resolution of technical debt while balancing short-term delivery with long-term maintainability Championing testing standards and helping define the team's test culture — unit and integration tests are expected, not optional Owning incidents and production issues end-to-end; useing DataDog and observability tooling as standard practice Serving as the reference point for architectural patterns like CQRS, DDD, and event-driven architecture — expected to evaluate and introduce tooling where there's clear benefit   So are YOU our next Senior Software Engineer? You are if you… Have 5+ years of senior-level experience building backend REST APIs in .NET and C# in production. Have strong expertise in software design principles and patterns, including Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event Sourcing, and CQRS. Have experience architecting and delivering distributed, microservices-based systems with cloud infrastructure (ideally GCP) and NoSQL/MongoDB databases. Are proficient in both asynchronous (Pub/Sub messaging) and synchronous (HTTP/REST) integration patterns. Have frontend development experience with Angular or TypeScript (exposure to micro frontend architecture is a plus). Are committed to quality with a strong track record of writing unit, integration, and automated tests as part of regular delivery. Have hands-on production support and observability experience, including CI/CD workflows (GitLab) and monitoring tools (DataDog). Have a product and business mindset: curiosity about business context in a complex, regulated domain (financial services / mortgage servicing) and the ability to clearly articulate technical and architecture decisions. Are familiar with AI-assisted dev tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, etc.) — the team actively uses these Tech stack at a glance Backend: .NET Frontend: Angular Cloud: Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Architecture: Distributed microservices, Domain-Driven Design, Event Sourcing, CQRS Communication: Async (Pub/Sub), Sync (HTTP) Testing: Automated tests across the stack; Playwright / Cypress an asset   Additional kudos if you… Have experience with Playwright and/or Cypress for end-to-end testing. Have experience in financial services, fintech, lending, or mortgage/secured-lending domains. Have experience in Micro frontend / module federation.   Compensation Information: Base salary range: $100,000 - $130,000 The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.   Sounds like you? Click below to apply!  #LI-Hybrid #LI-TO1
