Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and support the company’s cost accounting system, ensuring costs are properly allocated according to established accounting procedures.
  • Collect, analyze, and report cost data related to materials, labor, equipment, depreciation, repairs, assembly, manufacturing operations, and other operating expenses.
  • Develop and maintain accounting instructions, processes, and documentation for new and existing activities.
  • Investigate cost structures and identify opportunities to improve cost accuracy, efficiency, and reporting.
  • Develop unit costs and support pricing analysis for new services, products, and manufacturing activities.
  • Prepare financial reports comparing budgeted costs versus actual expenses and investigate significant variances.
  • Prepare profitability analyses and other financial analyses for existing and projected products, services, and projects.
  • Use Excel, SAP, and Power BI to analyze data, develop reports, identify trends, and communicate financial information.
  • Support manufacturing and project management teams with cost analysis, financial information, and recommendations.
  • Participate in projects involving cost accounting, financial processes, systems, and business improvements from planning through implementation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, reporting methods, and overall efficiency.
  • Provide recommendations based on detailed financial and operational analysis.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, Project Management, and other stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Communicate financial results, project status, issues, and recommendations to internal stakeholders and management.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing to less-experienced team members when required.
  • May coordinate or manage assigned projects, including planning, delegation, follow-up, and review of deliverables.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable accounting requirements.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration with an Accounting concentration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting projects, process improvements, or project management activities.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with SAP and Power BI.
  • Ability to develop, interpret, and present financial and operational reports.
  • Experience analyzing budgets, actual expenses, cost variances, profitability, and cost structures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex financial and operational issues.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and determine appropriate approaches to complex assignments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent in English; ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, management, and external partners.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build consensus.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and experience managing or supporting projects.
  • Ability to provide recommendations for improvements to processes, systems, and reporting.
  • Experience providing guidance, coaching, or training to other employees is preferred.
