  We’re looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Nottingham on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a varied, hands-on role where you will play a key role in supporting laboratory operations and ensuring scientists have the equipment, materials, and resources needed to deliver high-quality work. Key Responsibilities  Support the smooth running of laboratory operations by maintaining clean, organised, and well-stocked laboratory areas. Manage laboratory materials, including receiving, labelling, tracking stock, and updating relevant databases. Prepare reagents and other materials required by scientific teams. Carry out routine calibration and maintenance activities on laboratory equipment such as pipettes and balances. Complete daily monitoring activities, including checking laboratory water systems and maintaining accurate records. Issue, maintain, and monitor laboratory logbooks and associated records to ensure compliance and traceability. Maintain clear, accurate, and auditable documentation in line with quality requirements. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain all required training records. Skills and Experience Required Essential Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records. Ability to follow procedures and work consistently to quality standards. Basic IT skills, including experience using databases and Microsoft Office applications. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues. A proactive approach and willingness to support a range of laboratory activities. Ability to work safely and responsibly within a laboratory environment. Desirable Previous experience working in a laboratory, scientific, quality, manufacturing, or regulated environment. Experience maintaining laboratory documentation or record-keeping systems. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Experience calibrating or maintaining laboratory equipment.
