R.J. Corman Switching Company is currently seeking a Track Supervisor to join our team in Westlake, LA.

Responsibilities

→Coordinate, plan, and perform track maintenance work (install ties, change rail, etc.).
→Perform weekly track inspections to ensure safe train operations.
→Monitor work practices and safety-related issues to improve quality and performance.
→Work with customers, both internally and externally.
→Plan and provide future track improvements for the location.
→Manage employees, equipment, and materials.

Specialized or Technical Knowledge, Education and Experience:

→Three or more years of track maintenance experience preferred.
→Must have experience in Maintenance of Way standards.
→Prior supervisory experience.
→Familiar with and able to apply safety and operating procedures.
→Independent starter and self-motivated with good communication skills.

Requirements

Able to perform physically strenuous work.
Able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Requires occasional use of a 30 lb. claw bar to remove spikes, requiring application of 50 lbs. of force.
Requires occasional use of a 10 lb. sledgehammer to drive spikes, requiring application of 75 lbs. of force.
Able to walk, climb, and maintain balance on equipment, stairs, ladders, uneven terrain, rails, and ballast in a safe manner.
Able to navigate into confined spaces if necessary.
Must be able to lift, carry, stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull.

Work is performed outdoors in varying environmental and weather conditions.
Requires extended periods of strenuous physical activity under field conditions.
Works on and around railroad tracks, equipment, and uneven terrain.
May be required to work in confined spaces.
