Drone Operator - Learnership

A 12-month learnership opportunity is available for individuals seeking practical exposure within the drone technology and aviation sector. Running from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027, this structured programme combines workplace learning with skills development to help candidates build foundational experience in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations. Standard full-time operational hours apply across the 12-month period. Key Responsibilities: Participate fully in scheduled theoretical modules and workplace learning assignments across the 12-month duration. Assist with the planning, setup, and safe execution of drone flight operations under supervision. Maintain complete and accurate flight logs, equipment registers, and maintenance documentation. Conduct pre-flight and post-flight equipment checks to verify operational readiness and safety compliance. Support data collection, processing, and output reporting as required by operational tasks. Requirements Valid, accredited drone licence or certification (e.g., Remote Pilot Licence / RPL). South African citizenship. Clear background check records. Demonstrated interest in technology, aviation, or spatial data. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and adherence to safety protocols. Preferred Qualifications: This appointment will be made in accordance with the company's Employment Equity Plan and policy. Preference may be given to candidates from designated groups.
