Neonatologist | Permanent Opportunity | A Career-Defining Role in Public Neonatal Medicine
Work alongside a multidisciplinary academic clinical team delivering the highest standard of care to newborn infants and their families, and one that understands that excellent neonatal care is built equally on rigorous science, collaborative practice, and compassionate family-centred support.
About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Unit, this role will be providing appropriate clinical care to patients.
Duties for the role will include:
- Provide a high-quality clinical service under the direction of the relevant clinical service head to patients of Flinders Medical Centre
- Coordinating the follow up care of patients
- Participating in the development of clinical guidelines and protocols
- Ensuring effective communication with care providers, especially General Practitioners, to promote continuity of patient care.
- Providing appropriate direction and supervision to Registrars, Resident Medical Officers, and Neonatal Nurses
About you:
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration (Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine); or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
- Clinical experience and competence in the practice of Neonatology consistent with the criteria for completion of RACP subspecialty training in Neonatology
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including colleagues and other professional staff
- High level skills in problem solving and decision making
- Good teaching skills
