Join CALHN in Adelaide and turn your knowledge into practical clinical experience with supervision, hands-on learning and an experienced team around you.

You’ll have opportunities to:

  • Gain experience across acute, rehabilitation and community care
  • Build practical Orthotics and Prosthetics skills
  • Learn alongside experienced Orthotists and Prosthetists
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Working across CALHN sites and outreach settings, you’ll gain broad exposure to different services and patient groups while building strong foundations for your career.

Moving from university into clinical practice is a big step. You won’t be expected to know everything from day one, we’ll give you the support and opportunities to learn, ask questions and develop at a pace that builds your capability.

Your development will include:

Whether you’re graduating locally, interstate or from another recognised program, you’ll join a welcoming team invested in helping you make a confident transition into practice.

You’re completing your studies, have recently graduated or are beginning your Orthotics and Prosthetics career. You’re curious, enthusiastic and ready to turn your knowledge into meaningful patient care.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Hold an appropriate Orthotics and Prosthetics degree
  • Be eligible for Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association membership
  • Bring curiosity and a genuine willingness to learn
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively within a team
  • Embrace feedback and ongoing professional development

You won’t be starting your career alone. Connect First is CALHN’s dedicated early-career Allied Health program, bringing new graduates together as they transition into practice.

CALHN’s Orthotics and Prosthetics service works across the Royal Adelaide Hospital, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, rehabilitation services and other CALHN and outreach settings.
