Social Auxiliary Worker

Red Ember Recruitment is seeking a Qualified Social Auxiliary Worker based in Helderberg to play a key role in supporting and uplifting community-based programmes for older people. This opportunity is ideal for a compassionate and driven individual who is highly organised, proactive, and confident in engaging with diverse stakeholders, while managing both programme delivery and administrative responsibilities effectively. Assist with the planning, coordination, and implementation of programme activities for older people. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and administrative systems relevant to the department. Support the planning and facilitation of training sessions, as guided by the Community Development Officer / Social Worker. Drive and monitor attendance levels at service centres, ensuring consistent engagement. Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders and district partners. Assist the Volunteer Coordinator in managing a structured and active volunteer base. Provide support with social work-related tasks and interventions. Ensure effective resource management within programmes. Complete all reporting and administrative duties accurately and within required timeframes. Requirements Minimum Requirements Certificate in Auxiliary Social Work / Community Development or similar. Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP). 2 – 5 years’ experience in social fieldwork. Minimum 2 years’ practical experience working with older persons. Experience in community development or related environments. Valid Code 8 driver’s license and own reliable vehicle. Bilingual (English & Afrikaans) with strong public speaking ability.
