Redwood Strategy Group is searching for multiple Senior Consultants to support the U.S. Army’s Financial Improvement (AFI) Program. This role will contribute to efforts within the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army – Financial Operations and Information (ODASA-FOI), with a focus on audit remediation, internal controls, financial reporting, and risk management. The program supports audit readiness and sustainment efforts across Army Major Commands and service providers, aimed at building a financial environment that is accurate, reliable, timely, and auditable. Redwood Strategy Group is a specialized management consulting firm that engages experienced professionals and consultants to support the federal government with strategic project execution, financial process optimization, advanced IT solutions, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation. Through innovative transformations, they develop and implement strategies to optimize operations for military departments and agencies across the U.S. Federal Government.
 
Key Responsibilities
-Support audit response, remediation, and sustainment efforts in collaboration with Army stakeholders and service providers.
-Contribute to the implementation and documentation of internal controls in line with the Army’s RMIC program and federal financial management standards.
-Assist with corrective action plan execution, internal control testing, and financial reporting process improvements.
-Collaborate on policy development, training efforts, and standardized business process documentation.
-Provide support for data analysis, financial system evaluations, and reconciliation improvements.
-Work with client teams to ensure coordination across Commands and functional areas in support of audit goals and financial improvement initiatives.
-Participate in strategic communications and change management activities to support program adoption.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in federal financial management. Relevant commercial experience may be considered in lieu of federal experience.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Business Management/Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a directly related field (a Master’s in one of these fields may substitute if the undergraduate degree is not related), or
  • An active and current certification: one of the following: CPA, CIA, CISA, CGFM, CDFM, PMP, SAFe, or ITIL.

  • Interim Secret or above
  • Familiarity with federal financial processes, internal control frameworks, and audit response procedures.
  • Understanding of DoD financial systems and compliance expectations, including FFMIA.  Army preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to support training, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Experience supporting large-scale financial improvement or audit readiness initiatives in a federal environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams, managing priorities across multiple stakeholders.
