At RES, we’re looking for purpose-driven individuals who are passionate about restoration and sustainability, and who want their work to make a lasting environmental impact. Our team members go above and beyond, bringing initiative, integrity, and a strong work ethic to every project. Collaboration is key—we thrive on teamwork, open communication, and diverse perspectives. In a field that constantly changes, we value those who are resilient, adaptable, and resourceful in the face of challenges. If you're intellectually curious, eager to learn, and ready to help restore ecosystems and protect natural resources, you’ll find your place here.

RES is seeking a Laborer III / Crew Leader to join our field operations team. This position is ideal for an experienced construction laborer who can both perform hands-on field work and lead a labor crew on stream restoration and stormwater construction projects.

The Laborer III / Crew Leader serves as the primary leader for the labor crew, working directly alongside crew members while coordinating daily activities with the Project Superintendent. This role is responsible for ensuring labor tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.

This is not a supervisory position from behind a desk. You'll work alongside your crew every day, setting expectations, providing direction, and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

As the Crew Leader, you'll serve as the key communication link between the labor crew and Project Superintendent. Your ability to communicate daily priorities, identify challenges, and keep work progressing is essential to project performance.

You'll help construct stream restoration, stormwater management, wetland restoration, and environmental infrastructure projects that improve water quality and restore ecosystems.

You'll gain valuable experience managing field crews, coordinating construction activities, mentoring less experienced laborers, and preparing for future advancement opportunities within field operations.

Your day begins with a safety meeting and work plan review with the Superintendent. You will communicate daily objectives to your crew, assign work responsibilities, and ensure the team has the proper tools, equipment, and PPE to perform the work safely.

Throughout the day, you will lead labor crews performing activities such as:

  • Installing erosion and sediment control measures
  • Silt fence installation and maintenance
  • Turbidity curtain installation
  • Coir matting and erosion control blanket installation
  • Temporary and permanent stabilization
  • Site grading and restoration activities
  • Stream restoration construction support
  • Material handling and site cleanup
  • Equipment support and spotter duties

As the Crew Leader, you will actively monitor productivity, quality, and safety while maintaining communication with the Superintendent regarding project progress, manpower needs, material requirements, and field challenges.

You will also help train and mentor crew members, perform daily equipment inspections, maintain project documentation as required, and ensure work is completed according to project specifications.
