Part of the Robert Plumb Collective, and newly merged with Captive Cabinetmaking, Cranbrook Workshop is in a growth phase with a strong pipeline of upcoming projects. Cranbrook Workshop specialises in custom joinery and cabinetry, balancing modern carpentry technologies with care and craft. We provide all types of joinery from simple solutions to more highly articulated interior designer led treatments.

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a technically skilled Draftsperson to support our team. Working closely with project managers, designers and production teams, you will be responsible for producing accurate, workshop ready joinery drawings and technical documentation that supports the successful delivery of high end custom projects.

About the role

  • Produce detailed joinery shop drawings and technical documentation using Microvellum, ensuring accuracy, compliance and workshop-ready outputs.
  • Interpret architectural and design documentation, translating concepts into practical, constructible joinery solutions.
  • Identify and resolve design clashes, technical issues and manufacturing constraints early to minimise rework and support efficient project delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, architects, project managers, production teams and subcontractors to clarify requirements and achieve project outcomes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by optimising drafting workflows, material utilisation and documentation processes to enhance workshop efficiency.
  • Proven experience in joinery drafting, cabinetmaking drafting or a similar technical drafting role within the construction or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications and detailed design documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microvellum, AutoCAD or similar drafting software, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Practical understanding of joinery manufacturing processes, materials and workshop requirements.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to identify design clashes and develop practical, buildable solutions.
