The mission of the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington is to spread the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. In the faithful pursuit of this mission, the parish is seeking a Facilities and Maintenance Technician.
The Facilities and Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical integrity of the parish and grounds and will report to the Pastor.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Effectively communicate with Pastor and Staff.
- →Conduct all maintenance work, service requests, building inspections and preventative maintenance
- →Handle all maintenance issues such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC
- →Maintain inventory of equipment, tools and supplies
- →Provide basic maintenance of grounds (maintain shrubs, flowers, grass, weed control, and mulching)
- →Manage pest control and at times provide further assistance between pest control company visits
- →Possess basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing and mechanical skills
- →Perform all types of cleaning.
- →Take care of any maintenance issues.
- →Operate all buffers, scrubbers and carpet cleaning equipment.
- →Operate professional lawn equipment.
- →Strip and wax floors.
- →Operate snow removal equipment, shovel snow and de-ice.
- →Work with other team members to complete joint custodial/maintenance projects.
- →Participate in and support improvement initiatives.
- →Ensure that all work has been completed in a safe, prompt and professional manner
- Effective team player with strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact with clients in a courteous and professional manner
- Ability to lift 40-50 lbs. consistently
- Committed to excellence in following Archdiocesan policies, procedures, standards and legal requirements.
- Must be self-motivated and responsible, ability to work with minimal supervision
- Valid and current driver's license, with a clean driving record
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ prior professional experiences: office service and/or customer service experience strongly preferred
- Good computer knowledge
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent and special training in maintenance preferred.
