As a HR Lead Trainer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing the short- and long-term objectives of all training projects and action plans, as well as assuring demonstrable outcomes. The Lead Trainer will be responsible for all training activities, from idea to implementation, and will offer high-quality material that fosters an immersive learning environment. The job must oversee all cross-functional projects and action plans, as well as the continuation of training and coaching efforts with quarterly quantifiable results.
Responsibilities
~2 min readIdentify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals, and consultation with the Human Resources department, department managers, and frontline leaders:

Conduct organization-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.

Draw an overall or individualized training and development plan that addresses needs and expectations.

Map out annual training plans for management and departments.
- →
Design and develop training programs (outsourced and/or in-house).
- →
Select appropriate training methods or activities (e.g., simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development classes).

Market available training to employees and provide necessary information about sessions.
- →
Schedule in-house educational sessions using e-learning platforms.
- →
Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions.
Maintain updated curriculum database and training records:

Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs.

Use known education principles and stay up to date on new training methods and techniques.
- →
Manage organization-wide annual training budget.
- →
Measure improvements in employees’ job performance at the end of each course.
- →
Gather feedback from trainees and instructors and recommend suggestions for the learning process.

Develop technical training courses for all levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced).

Ensure all new hires undergo basic technical training based on their position and the area in which they are to work.

Monitor and evaluate the training program’s effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them.
Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments, and best practices:

Host train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts.
- →
Research and recommend new training methods.
- →
Liaise with industry experts and organize workshops and classroom-style training.
- →
Deploy a wide variety of training methods.
Maintain training records and files:

Ensure all employees have been properly signed off for equipment they are operating.
- →
Maintain all training records in employee training files.
- →
Ensure all files are complete according to regulatory standards.
- →
Work with the Safety team and other mine departments to create training procedures to be used in the mine department.
