Commercial Pipefitter

Since 1996, RQ Construction, LLC has been a leading commercial and governmental design-build firm. Today we have a national presence, with projects from coast to coast. Our field operations teams live and work on location for each project. We specialize in fast-track new commercial construction for public and private clients, with a primary focus on the Department of Defense market.

We're hiring several commercial Pipefitters to join our self-perform team for ongoing work at Naval Station Norfolk, VA. All work is performed on the military base and paid at the Davis-Bacon prevailing wage for Naval Station Norfolk. Local candidates within a reasonable commute are encouraged to apply.

• →Plan, assemble, and install piping systems on an active commercial construction site
• →Install mechanical piping, including underground piping
• →Support start-up and energizing of mechanical equipment such as boilers and chillers
• →Build to code and project specifications, using the right equipment and tools
• →Follow RQ's safety practices on every task, in support of RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values

• High school diploma or GED
• 4+ years of journeyman-level pipefitting experience in commercial, industrial, or facilities operations settings (government, military, or large commercial construction experience preferred)
• Hands-on mechanical pipe installation experience
• Underground piping experience
• Start-up and energizing experience (boilers, chillers)
• Current welding certification
• CPR, First Aid, and OSHA-10 certifications (we can provide training if you don't have them yet)
• Valid pipefitter license or journeyman card (preferred)
