Join a team whose driving force is "Doing the Most Good." The Salvation Army Midland Divisional Headquarters in St. Louis, MO is looking for a qualified candidate to fill our Disaster Recovery Services Case Manager Supervisor position.
The Disaster Recovery Services Case Manager Supervisor will coordinate and deliver a temporary assistance project delivering long-term follow-up services for disaster survivors. These services include rapid response contact with survivors and periodic repeated contacts, including local travel, to meet survivors’ material needs, inform them of emerging resources and resolve system impediments, and provide referrals to disaster and non-disaster services. Will develop long-term case management services as appropriate to restore disaster affected persons to their previous levels of functioning. Position will supervise up to -7 case managers throughout the affected areas. Will ensure coordinated services among case managers and continued contact with other agencies also involved in long term recovery services. DRS Case Manager Supervisor Position is expected to comply with and meet The Salvation Army, Federal, State and Local policies and standards.
Location: Midland Division, 1130 Hampton Ave. St. Louis, MO
This is a full-time position with a starting salary of $55,000 per year.
This is a 16 month grant funded position, possibly extension depending on grant funding.
Essential Functions:
1. Deliver and supervise disaster recovery services to persons presenting at agency center(s) or to persons temporarily residing in community settings including motels, shared homes, and other housing situations.
2. Generate disaster and non-disaster information and referral service information, gain and disseminate understanding of the resources available to the survivors, facilitate referral processes of survivors to resources ensuring that referred survivors can access these resources, and track utilization of these resources.
3. Determine eligibility and assess survivors’ disaster related needs, complete disaster intake form(s) and records, provide disaster related financial assistance, and record disaster related casework services according to prescribed agency guidelines.
4. Provide project liaison between The Salvation Army and other agencies possibly including presentations to Long Term Recovery Committee.
5. Implement as needed long-term case management services, which may include individualized disaster recovery plans, with disaster survivors leading to the elimination of disaster-related needs.
6. Input client and client related information into The Salvation Army Information Management System (SIMS). Review and ensure that case managers’ information is entered in a timely and accurate manner. Data may also be entered into The America Red Cross CANS system.
7. Monitor agency spending on project and ensure the timely and correct collection of statistical data and reports.
8. Substitute for any Disaster Recovery Services workers as necessary.
9. Maintain confidential, comply/enforce proper client boundaries and comply with Safe From Harm guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in human services field and two years related work experience with some supervisory experience. Combination of training and experience will be considered. Must have good communication skills and an ability to work with diverse cultures. Strong leadership style and good organizational skills required. Commitment to carry out The Salvation Army mission is essential. Knowledge of The Salvation Army and Government, State and community resources is helpful. Requires reliable transportation, a valid Driver’s License and pass The Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Report screening. Must demonstrate ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment. Must be a team player, a self-starter, able to handle several projects at the same time and perform well with minimum supervision.
