As a Dangerous Goods Transportation Compliance Manager, you will ensure safe and compliant transportation of hazardous materials by developing and implementing policies, procedures, and training programs, while staying updated on regulatory changes and industry best practices. The role will include focus in dangerous goods compliance but also assist with general organizational trade compliance initiatives. The candidate will join the Global Trade function within the Legal Department, and collaborate cross-functionally to execute established compliance processes supporting applicable export regulations.

JOB DUTIES:
Administer the Dangerous Goods Transportation Compliance Program: 

  • Design and implement DG compliance programs globally in new sites. 

  • Review new and current products to ensure transportation regulatory standards. 

  • Assign proper profiles and ensure the data is accurate in the various ERP systems to support regulatory compliance relevant to transportation.

  • Willingness and ability to engage with regulators and stakeholders regarding issues, concerns, or inquiries; Customers, Service Providers, Product Managers, Logistics

  • Proactively seek out, research, and identify regulatory changes and trends and adjust the current program as needed.

  • Partner with other functional areas such as Logistics, Procurement, and Sourcing.

  • Develop and ensure compliance through periodic reviews and audits.

  • Assist with other Trade Compliance initiatives as required.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • 5 years of relevant experience in trade compliance or dangerous goods.  

  • Extensive knowledge of global transportation regulations, including, but not limited to 49CFR, IATA, and IMDG.

  • Able to interpret and apply regulatory laws and guidelines. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex regulatory matters to non-experts.

  • Experience conducting internal audits and assessments is a plus.

  • Collaborative and creative approach; ability to work across functions and with all levels of the workforce.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

WE VALUE:

  • Notable experience with Hazardous Materials regulations; ability to work with various complex regulatory bodies.

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Prophet 21 (P21).

  • Awareness and understanding of other governing regulatory publications such as the ADR and TDG.
