Responsibilities

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) for Press Parts and Structural Components is responsible for ensuring that all sourced metal components — including stamped parts, welded assemblies, and structural body elements — meet Scout Motors’ quality, timing, and delivery requirements. This role partners with suppliers from nomination through SOP (Start of Production) and beyond to proactively manage quality risks, develop robust manufacturing processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Supplier Assessment and Selection:
- →Conduct thorough evaluations of potential suppliers to assess their capability, quality systems, and compliance with industry standards.
- →Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to select suppliers that align with our quality objectives.
Quality Assurance and Monitoring:
- →Establish and maintain quality metrics for Press Part /Structure components.
- →Monitor supplier performance through regular audits, assessments, and quality control inspections.
Root Cause Analysis:
- →Investigate quality issues related to suppliers, utilizing root cause analysis techniques to identify problems and implement corrective actions.
- →Collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues and improve their processes.
Quality Documentation:
- →Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans, control plans, and work instructions specific to Press Part /Structure components.
- →Ensure that all quality records are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Continuous Improvement:
- →Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in supplier quality performance.
- →Facilitate training and workshops with suppliers to promote best practices in quality management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- →Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure quality standards are integrated throughout the product lifecycle.
- →Participate in product development meetings to provide input on supplier capabilities and quality considerations.
Requirements
