Carpenter

Job Overview 

This position performs a variety of carpentry services and setup of the San Diego County Fair.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following: 

• Using carpentry skills to build and install exhibit walls and display panels. 

• Forklift certification will be provided if needed. 

• Be proficient in the use of power equipment including circular saws, drills, etc. 

• Possess excellent problem-solving skills. 

• Performs building maintenance tasks that pertain to carpentry. 

• Assists and other trades when needed. (i.e., Plumbers, Electricians, Maintenance Workers, etc.). 

• Practices good physical work methods, utilizes
  good work habits, and meets established production standards. 

• Wears proper personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, googles) and always works in a safe work environment. 

• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested when needed. 

• Possess a valid driver’s license. 

Qualifications 

• Knowledge of and experience in carpentry. 

• Excellent customer service and ability to work cooperatively with team members and others.

Working Conditions 

• Work is indoors and outdoors. 

• Outdoor work may involve some exposure to weather conditions. 

• Expose to farm animals, dust, dirt, and unpleasant odors. 

• Moves objects at least 30 pounds. 

• Works a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
