Responsibilities
~2 min readThe Barback assists bartenders with essential support in maintaining a well-stocked, clean, and efficient bar environment. The role is key in ensuring a positive guest experience by preparing and restocking supplies, maintaining bar cleanliness, and providing prompt support to bartenders during busy service times.
Key Responsibilities:
- →Maintain a fully stocked bar by ensuring supplies like glassware, ice, garnishes, mixers, and alcohol are readily available throughout service. Restock items quickly as they deplete.
- →Assist in setting up the bar at the start of the shift, including organizing equipment, arranging supplies, and preparing garnishes and other essentials.
- →Keep the bar area, equipment, and storage areas clean, sanitized, and organized throughout the shift. This includes wiping down surfaces, washing and drying glassware, and sweeping/mopping floors as needed.
- →Support bartenders by fetching and delivering drinks, ingredients, and supplies quickly. Help with simple drink preparation tasks as directed by the bartender.
- →Monitor and manage inventory levels, reporting shortages to bartenders or the bar manager to prevent service interruptions.
- →Engage with customers courteously and professionally if approached, helping create a welcoming environment while directing any specific orders or requests to the bartender.
- →Follow health, safety, and sanitation regulations to maintain a clean and safe work environment, including proper handling and storage of all bar equipment and ingredients.
- →Assist with closing duties by cleaning, organizing, and restocking the bar for the next day’s service.
