Job Description - QA Inspector 
SEMPAC is a privately-owned company in the Silicon Forest devoted to the design, development and manufacture of pre-molded “Open-Cavity” Semiconductor Packages. Our products allow for integrated circuits and micromachine devices to interface with the outside world. SEMPAC specializes in integrated packaging solutions for a broad range of semiconductors, from Avionics, Aerospace, High Frequency RF, Broadband Communications, Optoelectronics, MEMS, Sensors and Military applications.

Essential Functions

The QA Inspector is responsible for ensuring product quality and supporting manufacturing operations throughout all stages of production, including but not limited to the following:

  • Perform visual inspection of parts at incoming, in-process (WIP), and final stages using magnification tools, microscopes, and Inspection/Microscope (IM) equipment
  • Conduct incoming inspection of materials, including identification of defects such as stains, voids, and plating issues
  • Monitor and evaluate quality of work-in-process across multiple operations
  • Inspect parts to determine acceptance, rework, or reclean requirements; clearly identify and mark areas needing rework
  • Perform component-level rework and cleaning per established procedures
  • Conduct quality checks on kitted orders, verifying correct parts, quantities, cleanliness, and absence of damage
  • Sample kitted and finished components to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Accurately log inspection results and maintain complete, traceable quality documentation
  • Operate testing and inspection equipment as required to assess product conformance
  • Package inspected components for final shipment in accordance with quality and handling requirements
  • Perform periodic light manufacturing duties as needed to support production flow
  • Participate in continuous improvement, quality initiatives, and compliance activities


Competencies

  • Use of tweezers and small tools under microscope is required.
  • Prior electronics experience preferred.
  • Prior lean manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate both verbally and in written form in English.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read inspection, assembly and rework instructions.
  • Must demonstrate basic math skills and attention to detail


Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Must pass a background check
  • Pre-employment drug screening is required
