The 61st Street Service Corporation, provides administrative and clinical support staff for ColumbiaDoctors. This position will support ColumbiaDoctors, one of the largest multi-specialty practices in the Northeast. ColumbiaDoctors’ practices comprise an experienced group of more than 2,800 physicians, surgeons, dentists, and nurses, offering more than 240 specialties and subspecialties.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Enter health insurance information from biopsy requisition into EPIC.
- →Copy and paste MRN from Laboratory Information System (LIS) to EPIC
- →Search for the patient in EPIC and if found make sure demographics match the LIS
- →If the patient is not found log patient as described below
- →Locate the patient appointment in EPIC and enter the patient’s insurance
- →Access response history to recheck that gender, DOB and name is correct in both systems
- →Once insurance is verified copy and past the CSN number from EPIC to LIS
- →In EPIC check in the appointment and ensure the appointment has been confirmed
- →Logging - enter patient biopsy information into Laboratory Information System
- →Patient Demographics
- →Clinical history
- →Biopsy site
- →Flag no Bill cases
- →Biopsy Grossing description
- →Find the patient or create new patient registration in EPIC
- →Create new encounter
- →Enter or correct patient demographics
- →Enter Patient MRN in Laboratory LIS
- →Enter Patient Insurance information in EPIC and verify Insurance Status
- →Confirm client information is correct
- →Ensure provider matches the requisition
- →Ensure provider’s address matches the requisition
- →For outside consultations, enter referring lab information in the gross description
- →Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
~1 min read- High school diploma or equivalency is required.
- A minimum of 1 year relevant experience.
- Working knowledge/proficiency with Health Insurance.
- Demonstrated organizational and problem solving skills, and the ability to set priorities among multiple competing objectives, tasks and initiatives is required.
- Candidate must be well organized and be able to manage a demanding workload and moderately complex cases in an accurate and timely manner.
- Candidate must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working proficiency of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) or similar software is required and an ability and willingness to learn new systems and programs.
- Prior experience in EPIC is preferred.
