Responsibilities

→Perform all levels of maintenance on heavy trucks, CESE, and diesel equipment

→Diagnose and repair suspension, steering, brakes, drivetrain, and powertrain systems

→Conduct tire mounting, balancing, and replacement

→Perform welding, metal work, and minor fabrication

→Support field and expeditionary maintenance operations

→Operate Government vehicles in the performance of maintenance duties

→Document labor, parts, and repairs in Fleet Focus

→Follow OEM guidance, NAVFAC P300/P480, and NSW maintenance standards

→Support surge and contingency maintenance requirements

Requirements

U.S. citizen

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Ability to obtain installation access credentials

Must have a valid driver’s license (Commercial driver's license (CDL) where vehicles exceed 26,000 lbs GVW preferred)

Minimum 6 years as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic

Experience with OEM dealerships, commercial fleet shops, or military intermediate level maintenance facilities

Ability to independently diagnose and repair heavy equipment and diesel systems

Proficiency using Asset Works Fleet Focus or similar maintenance management systems

ASE certification in diesel engines plus at least two heavy truck categories (e.g., brakes, drivetrain, suspension, electrical, HVAC, preventive maintenance)
