Deputy/Assistant Director, Financial Advisers Supervision (Contract)

Responsibilities

Part of a team responsible for the supervision of financial institutions conducting financial advisory and insurance broking activities. This includes banks and insurers which carry out financial advisory activities, as well as licensed financial advisers.

Respond to public queries on licensing, regulatory, supervisory and market conduct matters.

Assess applications, notifications and regulatory filings submitted by financial institutions and their representatives

Support supervisory reviews, legislative change initiatives and process improvement projects relating to the supervision of financial institutions.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to discuss supervisory issues, regulatory developments and industry trends.

Opportunities to interact with other departments in MAS, as well as external parties such as audit firms, industry bodies, foreign regulators, and other government agencies.
Strong audit and analytical skills, and ability to pay attention to details, as well as identify broad trends and issues
Possess good written and verbal communication skills
Good working knowledge and experience in financial institutions conducting financial advisory activities
Ability to multi-task and keep to tight timelines
Experience reviewing reports, analysing data and assessing applications or submissions would be an advantage.
Self-motivated and driven
You will be working in a fast-paced environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and needs of stakeholders, as well as the agility to respond to changes and developments.
This is a 1-year contract position. As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
