This role ensures consistent communication, seasonal follow-up, and strong sales activity across all regions, while identifying and activating opportunities within the core backlist to sustain momentum for evergreen titles and proven bestsellers, maintaining their visibility and performance across retail and wholesale channels.
The Job Role
This role is responsible for driving consistent sales performance through proactive telesales activity and strong relationship management across key accounts. Working closely with retailers and customers, the position focuses on promoting both frontlist and backlist titles, maintaining regular contact, and identifying opportunities to increase visibility and revenue through targeted initiatives. A key element of the role is ensuring continuity of ordering while supporting broader commercial objectives.
The position plays an integral part in the planning and execution of promotional campaigns, collaborating with sales and marketing teams to deliver catalogues, seasonal activity, and price-led offers. It requires ownership of title selection and campaign inputs, alongside the ability to analyse sales data, track performance metrics, and provide actionable insights to optimise results. Maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely coordination with internal stakeholders are essential to delivering effective and well-executed campaigns.
The Candidate Profile
You are a commercially minded sales professional with experience in telesales, account management, or a similar customer-facing role, ideally within publishing or a related industry. You bring a strong track record of driving sales performance, building and maintaining relationships, and identifying opportunities to grow revenue across both frontlist and backlist titles. Confident working with targets and data, you are comfortable analysing performance metrics and translating insights into effective, results-driven strategies, while remaining highly organised and detail-oriented in managing multiple campaigns and priorities.
You are an effective communicator with the ability to influence, adapt your approach to different audiences, and build trusted partnerships both internally and externally. Collaborative and proactive, you work seamlessly across teams to deliver cohesive promotional activity and achieve shared goals. With a strong awareness of market trends and customer needs, you demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement, while contributing positively to team culture and upholding a professional, results-focused approach.
