As a Student Life Ambassador in the High School (HS), your primary role is to help cultivate a safe, positive, and joyful environment for our students during non-instructional time (primarily during students’ lunch break and free periods). You will be responsible for facilitating and encouraging meaningful student engagement, modeling positive social interactions, and managing a variety of recreational resources and equipment. Additionally, this role includes supervision duty as assigned, helping to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
We are seeking high-energy, proactive individuals who enjoy working with teenagers and want to make a lasting, positive impact in our community.
Responsibilities

Promote Screen-Free Recreation: Organize and facilitate both formal and informal recreational activities during unstructured school hours, taking into account feedback from students and other educators.

Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain positive, respectful, and trusting relationships with students, colleagues, faculty, and staff.

Resource Management: Organize, maintain, and manage inventory for recreational equipment and resources. Ensure materials are clean, accessible, and reported for repair/replacement when needed. Implement a check-in/out system for borrowed equipment.

Active Supervision: Maintain high visibility by continuously circulating assigned indoor and outdoor spaces to ensure a safe, inclusive atmosphere.

Behavioral Support & Incident Escalation: Actively redirect and log minor behavioral issues and escalate more serious concerns or safety incidents to Deans or other school leaders promptly according to established procedures.

Safety & First Response: Prioritize the physical and emotional safety of students during all activities, addressing immediate needs and promptly reporting safety concerns or injuries to the appropriate personnel.

Collaboration: Work closely with other Student Life Ambassadors, lunch supervisors, support staff, and members of the high school student life team to maintain a cohesive environment.

Professional Development: Actively participate in school-provided training and professional learning opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills.

Operational Flexibility: Perform other duties as assigned to support school culture and safety.
