Job Description – Mechanical Technician Position: Mechanical Technician Location: Singapore Salary: Depends upon experience Experience: 2–5 Years (preferred) Position Overview The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for supporting mechanical maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting activities for machinery and equipment. The role involves ensuring that all mechanical systems operate efficiently, safely, and in accordance with technical standards and operational requirements. The ideal candidate should possess strong hands-on technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and the capability to work with mechanical systems, tools, and equipment while maintaining high standards of safety and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Mechanical Maintenance & Repair Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery. Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective corrective actions. Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance activities to reduce equipment downtime. Replace worn-out or damaged components such as bearings, valves, pumps, and mechanical parts. Installation & Equipment Support Assist in installation, commissioning, and testing of mechanical systems and machinery. Ensure proper alignment, calibration, and functioning of installed equipment. Support engineers and supervisors during mechanical system upgrades or modifications. Troubleshooting & Problem Solving Identify mechanical defects and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions. Analyze root causes of mechanical failures and recommend improvements. Ensure timely resolution of equipment issues to maintain operational continuity. Documentation & Reporting Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. Prepare technical reports and maintenance logs for internal documentation. Ensure compliance with operational procedures and reporting standards. Safety & Compliance Follow workplace safety guidelines and operational standards during maintenance activities. Ensure all work complies with company safety policies and regulatory requirements. Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and work areas. Essential Qualifications Diploma / ITI / Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician or in a similar role. Experience working with mechanical systems, machinery maintenance, or industrial equipment. Familiarity with mechanical tools, equipment, and maintenance techniques. Required Skills Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills. Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals. Good understanding of mechanical components such as pumps, compressors, motors, and valves. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and reporting skills.
