Your mission at Sistema.bio:

This role is responsible for the overall coordination and successful execution of Sistema.bio’s carbon projects across Africa. The key focus is on managing the carbon credit certification process, ensuring seamless teamwork and adherence to the highest technical and quality standards, from project design through to the final issuance of carbon credits.


You’ll be in charge of:

  • Managing carbon project certification: Coordinating activities required to register, certify, and monitor carbon projects under Gold Standard or other registries, ensuring projects progress smoothly from design to carbon credit issuance.
  • Coordinating project implementation: Working closely with regional teams to organize stakeholder consultations, baseline and monitoring campaigns, and audit visits while ensuring all project documentation meets certification requirements.
  • Monitoring impact and reporting results: Tracking project implementation and producing high-quality impact reports for clients, funders, and carbon standards using internal systems and data analysis tools.
  • Supporting field operations and audits: Collaborating with field teams during carbon audit site visits and stakeholder consultations, while strengthening data collection practices and training teams on carbon project processes.
  • Providing technical carbon support: Supporting internal teams with emission reduction estimates, proposal development, and training on carbon methodologies and certification processes.


More about YOU:


  • Bachelor's or Master's in Economics, Business, Sustainability, Public Policy, Environmental Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years managing/supporting carbon projects; strong grasp of carbon markets, standards, and methodologies.
  • Analytical, comfortable with qualitative/quantitative data, proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) for project data analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills (written/verba) in English, ability to collaborate effectively with diverse, international teams/stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, proactive self-starter able to manage multiple priorities, drive projects, and continuously learn.

  • This is a full-time position based in Nairobi, Kenya. 
  • We offer a hybrid work model.
