Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Proactively communicate and set accurate claims expectations with customers throughout the Claims process while providing high quality customer service.
- →Research, analyze, and interpret policy language and state law as it applies to submitted claims.
- →Examine and appropriately interpret policies, forms, and other records to determine coverage and extent of company's exposure or liability.
- →Appropriately apply knowledge of multiple state statutes, including the insurance code of ethics, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
- →Adjusts
- →all levels of bodily injury claims, including significant demonstrable injuries (e.g. traumatic brain injury, disfigurement, fatality), as well as property damage liability and personal liability claims, including but not limited to, defamation and slander.
- →property damage liability claims and minor bodily injury claims.
- →Negotiate and settle claims in accordance with Slide's best practices, guidelines, and industry standards.
- →Manage an inventory of litigated claims in accordance with Slide's practices, guidelines, and industry standards.
- →Partners and/or directs vendors, defense counsels, and internal business partners.
- →Model ethical behavior and execute job responsibilities in accordance with Slide's core values, ethics, and information protection policies.
- →Document all relevant information in the electronic claims management system.
- →Contribute to the business production goals and objectives.
- →Establish timely and appropriate claim reserves in accordance with claim standards.
- →Appropriately represent the company by executing a high level of service and always maintaining professionalism.
- →Prepare and present training to all adjusters on a routine basis.
- →Perform other duties, as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Licensing:
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of a High School diploma / GED and pertinent workexperience is required.
- Active Florida 6-20 Resident All Lines Adjuster License
- 3+ years of casualty claims adjusting experience; complex casualty experience preferred.
- 3+ years of property damage liability claims experience; casualty experience preferred.
- 3+ years of liability claims adjusting experience; personal injury (ie. Defamation, slander, false imprisonment, etc.) experience preferred.
- 2+ years of experience working directly for a carrier.
- Experience with multiple state-specific insurance laws and good faith claims handling, with knowledge of Florida laws required.
- Industry designations or certifications, such as CPCU or AIC, are a plus.
Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:
- A thorough understanding of insurance-related legal procedures, regulations, and claims processing, with a focus on residential properties.
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of residential property claims practices and legal terminology.
- Xactimate proficiency is highly preferred
- Demonstrated leadership and managerial qualities, with the capacity to mentor and guide peers.
- Proven adaptability and flexibility; able to adjust to new requirements or unforeseen issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on outstanding customer service.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Exceptional time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks and allocate resources efficiently and ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in MS Office/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
