The Pre-Approval Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, file quality, and adhering to the agreed upon Service Level Agreement (SLA) while processing borrower documents. This is accomplished by obtaining and verifying necessary documentation for underwriting the loan file and communicating directly with borrowers, third-party vendors, and/or loan officers to obtain documentation for initial loan approval.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Communicate with borrowers and various third-party companies to obtain and review required minimum document requirements and vendor information including, but not limited to: income and disclosure documents, verification of employment, tax transcripts, financial/bank statements, and ordering updates to FHA and VA case numbers as needed
- →Verify vendor orders are completed and returned, and invoices are received and documented
- →Verify all required documentation in the file is complete and accurate before submitting to underwriting
- →Responsible for handing over a completely documented file to the Underwriter which is ready for initial underwriting
- →Complete required loan submission checklists
- →Manage pipeline within allotted turn times
- →Document all communication related to the loan application in the conversation log.
- →Perform other duties as assigned or required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the mortgage industry
- Ability to calculate income and review credit report experience
- Ability to communicate with borrowers
- Knowledge of mortgage guidelines
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Available to work varying hours and overtime if needed
- Knowledge of Microsoft suite (Windows) and Google suite (Google Docs, Sheets, etc.)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Mortgage experience is strongly preferred
