As a Business Services Relationship Manager, you will build lasting relationships with business members by understanding their financial goals and delivering tailored loans, deposits, and financial services. As a trusted advisor, this role deepens member engagement and share of wallet through proactive recommendations, consistent service, and a focus on providing the best possible value. By developing new business, expanding existing relationships, and engaging in the community, the Relationship Manager helps members thrive while strengthening Solarity's reputation as a respected, member-focused financial partner.

We're more than a credit union-we're a team of people who care deeply about making a difference. If these values feel like a reflection of who you are, you might be right at home here:

  • Courage: You take ownership, support your teammates and have the confidence to make thoughtful decisions-even when it's not easy.
  • Impact: You're driven to make things better, challenge the status quo and go above and beyond for both members and coworkers.
  • Passion: You bring positive energy, a member-first mindset and genuine excitement for helping others. You celebrate wins-big and small-and embrace change with enthusiasm.

  • A degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  • Effective communication and relationship building skills.
  • A minimum of two years of related lending experience, including problem loans and workouts.
  • Experience in loan documentation, closing policies, procedures & practices.
  • Experience in managing a portfolio of loan clients.
  • Knowledge of business and income property lending.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational, project management and problem-solving abilities.
  • A high level of analytical skills.

As a Business Services Relationship Manager, your success is measured by the relationships you build, the opportunities you create, and the results you deliver. You will take ownership of your market and portfolio, with a focus on growing loans, deposits, new business relationships, and overall member engagement while maintaining strong credit quality.

You will actively manage your pipeline, prioritizing opportunities and consistently moving qualified prospects from initial conversation through decision and closing. You'll partner closely with Credit and internal teams to structure solutions, communicate effectively, remove obstacles, and deliver an exceptional member experience.

A significant part of your role will be spent in the market building relationships. You'll meet with business owners, existing members, prospects, CPAs, attorneys, commercial real estate professionals, and other Centers of Influence (COIs) who can help expand Solarity's presence throughout the business community.

You'll proactively develop new business through targeted prospecting, referrals, networking, community involvement, and COI relationships. Success isn't measured simply by the number of calls or meetings you complete-it's measured by your ability to turn those activities into qualified opportunities, new relationships, deposits, loans, and deeper member engagement.

You'll manage and grow existing relationships by developing a strong understanding of each member's business, financial position, challenges, and future goals. You'll look beyond the current transaction to identify opportunities to retain and grow deposits, provide additional financing, increase share of wallet, and connect members with other Solarity solutions that provide meaningful value.

You'll take ownership of your portfolio by maintaining regular contact with members, monitoring relationship and credit performance, identifying emerging risks, and addressing potential concerns early.

You'll maintain a healthy and active pipeline by consistently developing new opportunities while advancing existing ones. Accurate and timely documentation of member interactions, opportunities, next steps, and pipeline activity will provide visibility and accountability across the team.

You'll meet regularly with the VP of Commercial Business Sales Manager to review production results, pipeline development, relationship growth, portfolio performance, market activity, and professional development. Coaching will focus on helping you continuously improve your effectiveness and achieve your goals.

Performance will be evaluated through a combination of measurable results and relationship outcomes, including:

  • Loan production and portfolio growth
  • Deposit growth and retention
  • New business relationships
  • Growth and retention of existing relationships
  • Qualified pipeline development and conversion
  • COI and referral network development
  • Credit and portfolio quality
  • Member experience and relationship depth
  • Consistent market presence and community engagement

At the end of the day, success isn't about being busy. It's about producing results, building relationships that last, creating value for our members, and strengthening Solarity's position as a trusted business banking partner.
