Position: Marketing Automation Lead (HubSpot Expert)

Location: Remote

Working hours: Aligned with EU business hours - Central European Time (CET / UTC +2 )

Type of employment: Full-time, ongoing independent contractor agreement

As we look to increase our investments into growth, we are looking for a Marketing Automation Lead that can build the backbone of data for our GTM organization. This person will ensure that our demand gen systems are working flawlessly to provide next-level customer experiences across every touchpoint. Not only will this person be in charge of our marketing automation and CRM systems, they will also design data and automation flows across the organization. This role requires excellent communication skills and will work closely with Product, Engineering, Sales and Leadership.

Core Technical Skills

  • HubSpot expertise. Not only using it as a marketer, but owning data model and system design
  • Basic SQL or data querying. Able to pull their own reports without waiting on a data team
  • Webhook/API literacy. Doesn't need to code, but understands how systems talk to each other
  • UTM/attribution modeling. Knows how to track where demand actually comes from
  • Reporting expert. Able to visualize impact and help leadership make informed decisions
Core HubSpot skills:
  • Hands-on recent experience with HubSpot (building workflows, segments, and properties directly, not just managing a team)
  • Strong fluency in HubSpot functionality, including segments vs lists and workflow terminology (enrollment, re-enrollment, goal criteria, unenrollment)
  • Experience with commercial modelling, including multi-deal per company structures, MRR aggregation, renewal pipelines, and associations
  • Ability to integrate HubSpot with billing and product systems (e.g. Chargebee, AWS Marketplace, etc.)
  • Capability to evolve and optimise a mature HubSpot instance without disrupting existing setups

Systems & Analytical Thinking

  • Ability to map and document complex workflows before building them
  • Comfortable with data hygiene and lead routing logic
  • Understands funnel stages deeply — MQL, SQL, pipeline, etc.
  • Can debug a broken automation without panicking

Demand Gen Knowledge

  • Paid media fundamentals (enough to brief an agency or manage a budget)
  • Email nurture strategy — segmentation, sequencing, personalization logic
  • Webinar/content syndication ops experience is a bonus

Nice to Have

  • Experience marketing developer tools or PLG products
  • Familiarity with product usage data (e.g. Amplitude, Database) feeding into marketing automation
  • Some exposure to community-led or open source GTM motions

To move forward successfully share the following to Sammy@somewhere.com :

  • A short cover letter:
  1.  Explaining why you would be a strong fit for the role. Use this as an opportunity to pitch yourself directly to the client by highlighting your relevant experience, achievements, and motivation for applying.
  2. Include your core HubSpot competencies and experience. This role requires a hands-on approach and a high level of expertise in HubSpot.
  3. Include the reasons for leaving your last 3 roles and share your long-term career plans. We value long-term commitment and want to ensure a stable, mutually beneficial working relationship going forward.
  • What is your current and expected monthly salary in USD?
  • What is your notice period ?
  • An updated CV. Ensure it highlights your key skills and experience you have relevant to the role.
  • A video introduction link where you introduce yourself and summarize your experience and key achievements. You don’t need to mention the specific role you are applying for—keep it general by highlighting your background, expertise, and what you can bring to your next role. Use Google Drive and ensure that the link is unrestricted, viewable by anyone with the link and does not expire. Ensure your full name or contact details are not visible on this public link.
