About the Role
~1 min read- Monitor daily media coverage across traditional print/broadcast, digital news and social channels.
- Gather, organize and categorize media clips and mentions across multiple corporate, public sector and non-profit client accounts.
- Execute rapid real-time monitoring during breaking news or media spikes — delivering immediate notifications, flash alerts and incident summaries to account teams.
- Build, maintain and update client analytics dashboards using Looker Studio, Excel and custom tracking tools.
- Aggregate, structure and clean quantitative metrics and qualitative sentiment data from enterprise platforms including Meltwater, Muck Rack, Brand24 and Google Analytics 4.
- Maintain highly organized master datasets, media archives and historical benchmarking logs.
- Compile, format and write polished, accurate weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reports.
- Surface and flag key trends, sentiment shifts, share-of-voice changes and emerging risks for the senior team's analysis.
- Support ad hoc research, competitive benchmarking, media lists and measurement projects as client needs emerge.
Requirements
~1 min read- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in PR measurement, media monitoring, digital marketing analytics or corporate communications reporting. Agency or multi-client experience is highly valued.
- Advanced mastery of Boolean search logic to build, refine and troubleshoot complex queries across enterprise monitoring platforms.
- Demonstrated experience with media intelligence software, including Meltwater, Muck Rack, Brand24, Google Analytics 4 and social listening tools.
- Strong data visualization and spreadsheet skills — Looker Studio, Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, data structuring).
- Analytical clarity: the ability to distinguish high-volume chatter (quantitative spikes) from true brand reputation risk (qualitative sentiment change).
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to summarize media activity into clear, accurate, client-ready reporting.
- A dependable remote work practice with at least four hours overlapping U.S. Central Time on working days.
- Composure and responsiveness during real-time media spikes, crisis response windows and time-sensitive deadlines.
- Experience with crisis communication monitoring or public affairs campaigns.
- Media list building.
- SEO/GEO monitoring or Google Tag Manager.

- Relationship: Ongoing independent contractor engagement
- Capacity: Full-time, approximately 40 hours/week
- Location: Remote, open to global talent
- Collaboration: At least four dependable hours overlapping U.S. Central Time on working days. Occasional real-time monitoring outside normal hours may be requested during active media situations, arranged in advance — this is not a routine evening or weekend on-call role.
- Tools: Enterprise licenses and tools are provided, including Meltwater, Muck Rack, Brand24, Google Analytics 4 and Looker Studio.

- Compensation: Candidate-stated monthly rate in USD; final structure depends on experience
