Criminal Investigative Analyst

The City of South Jordan Police Department is hiring a Full-Time Criminal Investigative Analyst to support criminal investigations through intelligence analysis, digital evidence review, research, and information sharing.

• →Analyze criminal intelligence from police reports, criminal databases, social media, intelligence centers, and other authorized sources
• →Identify trends, patterns, associations, and investigative leads that support criminal investigations and crime prevention efforts
• →Prepare intelligence reports, summaries, analytical products, and briefings for detectives, officers, supervisors, prosecutors, and partner agencies
• →Perform digital forensic downloads and review digital evidence in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and investigative procedures
• →Maintain and audit law-enforcement databases and help ensure appropriate access and use
• →Provide training and updates on database use, intelligence resources, legislative changes, and investigative procedures
• →Coordinate with law-enforcement and intelligence partners to exchange authorized information and support investigations
• →Maintain confidential records and sensitive criminal-justice information while ensuring information is shared only with authorized individuals

• A collaborative partner – comfortable working closely with detectives, officers, prosecutors, analysts, and outside agencies

• Associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university
• At least two years of related analytical, administrative, criminal justice, research, or law-enforcement experience
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Law-enforcement experience preferred
• Must obtain Bureau of Criminal Identification certification within six months of hire
• Must obtain Digital Forensic Download certification within twelve months of hire
