The City of South Jordan is hiring an Engineering Inspector to perform technical inspection duties for public infrastructure projects. This position is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in the field, solving construction-related challenges, and helping ensure projects meet local, state, and federal construction standards.

What You'll Do:

• Inspect construction sites to identify potential design issues and verify work meets approved specifications.
• Review public infrastructure improvements, including streets, water systems, sewer, storm drain, and related construction.
• Communicate with contractors to help resolve construction concerns and determine appropriate corrective action.
• Keep supervisors, project managers, departments, and public agencies informed of conflicts or project concerns.
• Compile as-built information, project records, punch lists, and other documentation needed to complete projects.
• Use GPS survey equipment to conduct land, utility, and infrastructure surveys.

Who You Are:

• You have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
• You bring four years of related experience in construction, inspection, survey, or similar work.
• You have a valid Utah Class D Driver License.
• You can operate a personal computer and Microsoft products.
• You are able to communicate effectively, estimate materials, interpret plans, and maintain professional working relationships.
