This role offers an opportunity to support the implementation and expansion of the Athlete and Unified Leadership, Family initiatives and government relations work within the Europe Eurasia region as well as event management support for key programmatic events and initiatives in the region, such as the Athlete Leadership Congress in Serbia and the EU day in Brussels, both taking place in the first 2 weeks of November 2026.
The intern will provide administrative and programmatic support to the Manager, assisting with regional projects, training preparations, logistics, and communications.

Responsibilities

  • →Program Support: Assist the manager with planning and implementation related to Athlete Leadership, Family engagement and government relations projects and programs.
  • →Project Assistance: Contribute to various athlete leadership and government relations projects, including administrative support for grant implementation and management, overall project organization and logistics.
  • →Administrative Support: Help coordinate materials for programmatic and regional trainings, events or conferences (both online and in-person).
  • →Leadership Program Assistance: Support the Athlete Leadership/Unified Leadership programs by assisting with the coordination of council meetings and tracking training activities.
  • →Family Program Support: Provide administrative support to the regional Family Program, assist with communications to national coordinators, and help with the organization of family-related initiatives and grants incl. Family Health Forums.
  • →Data & Metrics: Help review and organize program and project metrics for impact reports and publications as well as research and compilation of program related information for grant applications and fund raising activities.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a university-level degree program, preferably in social and political sciences, education, non-profit management, or a related field.
  • A strong interest in working in the disability sector and/or government relations work.  
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, results-oriented team environment.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to assist with multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Proficiency with PC skills, specifically MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Open-minded with the ability to recognize good ideas.
  • Empathetic and appreciative of a wide range of people and cultures.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
