We are looking for a Benefits and Leave Specialist who brings equal parts analytical rigor and empathy. In this role, you will spend time supporting the administration, execution, compliance, and delivery of Spring Health’s employee benefits, leave of absence programs, and accommodation requests. This full-time, remote role is part of the People Team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Benefits and Wellness, and plays a critical role in ensuring our benefits and leave programs are compliant, efficient, and employee-centered. Occasional travel may be required for team or company events.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Act as the first point of contact for our employees, turning complex insurance jargon into clear, empathetic guidance for employees navigating everything from new additions to the family to retirement planning.
- →Assist in administering health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and supplementary benefit programs by collaborating with vendors, brokers, and internal teams to resolve issues and ensure service quality.
- →Master the art of benefits administration by managing the end-to-end journey of enrollments, life events, and terminations with surgical precision.
- →Play a key role in our "Super Bowl" event—Annual Open Enrollment. You’ll help design communication materials and lead sessions that help employees make the best choices for their future.
- →Ensure our engine runs smoothly by auditing invoices and maintaining a "gold standard" of compliance with ERISA, ACA, and HIPAA. You’ll become the subject matter expert on the rules that keep us safe.
- →Assist in administering the leave of absence process with the TPA and Payroll for a seamless employee and company experience.
- →Partner with stakeholders to lead our reasonable accommodations process, ensuring every employee has what they need to thrive in their role.
- →Don’t just follow the manual—help us rewrite it. You’ll identify bottlenecks and implement smarter, faster ways to deliver a world-class benefits experience.
- 3-8 years in benefits administration or related HR operations.
- Prior experience administering reasonable accommodations.
- Strong understanding of US benefit plans, HR policies and programs, with some knowledge of employment law and workplace compliance standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills — you're able to explain policies clearly and empathetically to a wide range of employees.
- Experience in HRIS platforms and Google Workspace.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Passion in learning and problem solving in a fast paced environment.
- Comfortable handling sensitive information with a high degree of discretion and professionalism.
The target base salary range for this position is $37.40 - $43.60, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually using Radford Global Compensation Database at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
