Job Summary
The Engineering Store-room Clerk is responsible for the receipt, storage, issuance, and control of engineering materials, tools, and spare parts. This position supports the Engineering Department by ensuring materials are readily available to maintain hotel facilities, guest rooms, and back-of-house operations in accordance with Marriott standards.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Stock Control
· Receive, inspect, and verify engineering materials against delivery documents.
· Properly record all receipts and issues using approved inventory systems and logs.
· Issue tools, spare parts, and materials to authorized engineering personnel.
· Monitor stock levels and notify management of low stock, ad hoc part request, and overstock items.
· Participate in spot checks, monthly, quarterly, and annual physical inventory counts.
Store-room Organization & Safety
· Maintain a clean, orderly, and secure engineering store-room.
· Ensure materials are properly labeled, shelved, and protected from damage or deterioration.
· Store hazardous materials in compliance with safety, fire, and environmental regulations.
· Follow all Occupational Safety & Health and Marriott safety policies.
Communication & Coordination
· Coordinate closely with engineering supervisors and technicians to understand material needs.
· Communicate shortages, overages, and general inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
· Work closely with management to ensure smooth operations of the storeroom
Compliance & Standards
· Adhere to Marriott International brand standards, ethics, and confidentiality policies.
· Comply with internal controls, audit requirements, and company procedures.
· Support sustainability and environmentally responsible practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Prior experience in store-room, inventory, or engineering support preferred.
· Previous hotel or resort experience is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
· Basic knowledge of engineering tools, parts, and materials.
· Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
· Basic computer proficiency including inventory systems (excel and word) and email.
· Good communication and teamwork skills.
· Ability to follow procedures with attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift, move, and carry materials and equipment as required.
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
