The lab of Dr. Anke Huels conducts research in the fields of environmental and molecular epidemiology of Alzheimer's disease, with a particular focus on air pollution. Dr. Huels is seeking an experienced epidemiologist to design and conduct research on air pollution and other environmental exposures and how they affect dementia risk.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides technical and scientific expertise for programs in the areas of communicable disease, chronic disease and environmental epidemiology.
  • Designs, conducts and reports on the epidemiological study of diseases, collects and analyzes data and develops health education materials.
  • Manages and participates in investigations and surveys that have national and international impact.
  • Conducts program research and prepares operational and statistical reports.
  • May write publishable articles and papers.
  • Serves as a liaison to and works with other groups and organizations participating in related programs.
  • May travel internationally to supervise field operations.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A doctoral degree in a field related to area of research or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. International travel required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD or DrPH in epidemiology, environmental health sciences, neuroscience, or related discipline.
  • Postdoctoral training focused on neurologic conditions and air pollution, omics science, and metals exposure.
  • Strong statistical skills and proficiency in R programming.
  • Experience developing peer-reviewed manuscripts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
