Job Title - Engineer-In-Training 1, Transportation Planning
Location - Chicago, IL

Stanley Consultants is currently seeking a talented individual for transportation planning and design in our Chicago, IL office. This position will provide engineering services on local roads, arterial streets and highway projects including: report preparation, environmental studies, traffic analysis, interchange and intersection studies, preliminary geometric roadway design and preparation of construction cost estimates.
  • Transportation Planning and Phase I Studies
  • Collect and analyze data from reports, maps, drawings and aerial photographs to plan projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of transportation project reports.
  • Prepares and checks design computations and quantity estimates.
  • Use of computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of design plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Coordination with regulatory agencies, utility companies and sub-consultants to obtain information, guidance, and requirements.
  • Adhere to company standards for quality assurance and quality control as defined in the quality manual.
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Must possess 0 to 3 years of relevant transportation engineering work experience
  • Must possess Engineer Intern (EI) registration/licensure
  • Strong oral communication and technical writing skills
  • Proficiency with Microstation and Geopak. OpenRoads experience is a plus
