Are you a skilled therapist, counsellor, or social worker passionate about supporting tamariki (children) to achieve safe and healthy futures?

 What you'll do

  • Undertake comprehensive, child-centred assessments that consider safety, wellbeing, and the underlying drivers of behaviour
  • Develop and deliver tailored, evidence-based interventions for tamariki who have engaged in harmful or concerning sexual behaviour
  • Work closely with whānau, caregivers, schools, and other professionals to support safe, consistent, and nurturing environments
  • Promote accountability, safety, and positive behaviour change while upholding the mana and dignity of each child
  • Contribute to safety planning and risk management alongside multidisciplinary partners
  • Maintain accurate client records and actively participate in reflective clinical review processes

 What you bring

  • A recognised qualification in psychology, counselling, social work, or a related mental health discipline, with current professional registration (e.g. NZ Psychologists Board, NZAC, SWRB)
  • Experience (or a strong interest) in working with tamariki who display harmful or concerning sexual behaviours, ideally within a trauma-informed framework
  • Sound understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and risk assessment
  • Ability to balance therapeutic engagement with accountability and safety
  • Strong skills in working with whānau and building collaborative, culturally responsive relationships
