We are opening a new fulfillment center in Atlanta, GA and looking for a General Manager to join our growing Fulfillment Center network. This individual will report into our Senior Director of Fulfillment, and will be responsible for overseeing the establishment of our new fulfillment center as well as all aspects of the day-to-day operations within a high-volume facility. This is a key leadership role that ensures customer orders are processed accurately, efficiently and on time, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, cost control, and employee engagement. This position requires travel to our headquarters in Melville, NY up to 3 times per year for internal meetings, leadership development, and team building activities. We reimburse reasonable and necessary business travel expenses.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all processes and procedures for all inbound, outbound, inventory control and facility operations
  • Ensure the teams are staffed appropriately to operate at peak efficiency and complete all assigned tasks daily
  • Manage the work performance of each member of the leadership team to ensure productivity standards and KPI metrics are consistently being met
  • Identify, lead, and support continuous improvement initiatives that drive customer service, accuracy, and productivity efficiencies while reducing operating cost
  • Determine the root cause of process opportunities, addressing issues and piloting resolutions to standard
  • Support the Senior Director of Fulfillment in the standardization of the overall operations of the fulfillment center
  • Partner and communicate with management/leadership to ensure alignment of objectives, problem solve, provide operational updates, and develop new operational procedure and strategies
  • Build a high-performing leadership team through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and talent development
  • Deliver performance reviews and conduct monthly check-ins with each member of the leadership team to establish rapport and provide feedback
  • Address performance related incidents that arise and recommending a course of action on all disciplinary and personnel issues
  • Train and develop fulfillment leadership through coaching, mentoring, and effective communication to develop a strong culture of employee engagement
  • Attend and participate in the HR and cross-functional meetings
  • Create and promote a safe working environment for all employees while developing a safety culture in which an employee feels safe and comfortable in their areas of responsibility
  • Lead by example and maintain professional standards in the workplace

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 7 years of applicable experience in warehouse, fulfillment, or distribution management, with direct oversight of multiple teams or departments
  • 3 years of managerial experience
  • Understanding of distribution flow, operational systems, integration, and automation
  • Proven ability to analyze KPIs and develop data-driven strategies to improve performance and employee engagement
  • Strong background in process improvement, including identifying workflow inefficiencies and implementing scalable solutions
  • Fundamental understanding of inventory, supply chain and logistics concepts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to see the “big picture” and identify/forecast developing issues
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, multitasking, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and align with executive leadership, while also connecting effectively with frontline associates
  • Proven track record of achieving operational goals related to productivity, accuracy, and cost efficiency
  • Ability to work independently, multitask and follow process and standard procedures
