Electrical Manufacturing Engineer

The Electrical Manufacturing Engineer supports manufacturing partners that supply medium- and low-voltage power distribution equipment for Switch projects. You will assess supplier capabilities, manufacturing readiness, capacity, and quality from initial evaluation through sustained production. You will work independently across supplier manufacturing sites and Switch construction locations to identify risks and guide resolution. This role requires domestic travel approximately 25–50% of the time.

  Assess manufacturing partners that produce medium- and low-voltage power distribution equipment.

  Complete supplier vetting and first-of-kind readiness reviews with engineering, sourcing, and modular suppliers.

  Monitor supplier performance from first-of-kind production through sustained manufacturing.

  Evaluate supplier manufacturing sites for production readiness, capacity, quality, and value engineering opportunities.

  Visit Switch data center construction sites to evaluate product quality and field performance.

  Participate in supplier business reviews and establish clear actions, owners, and follow-up.

  Provide technical input on sourcing escalations that affect capital projects.

  Work with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to resolve manufacturing and product issues.

  Travel domestically approximately 25–50%.

• You communicate technical findings, risks, and recommendations clearly.

• You identify manufacturing and supply risks early and follow established processes to resolve them.

• You bring practical solutions to supplier and project issues and follow through on commitments.

• You work effectively across engineering, sourcing, suppliers, contractors, and construction teams while maintaining clear ownership.

• You use sound judgment when priorities compete and escalate issues when needed.

• You hold yourself and suppliers accountable for quality, reliability, and commitments.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant technical experience.

• 4+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing or construction involving modular electrical systems.

• Experience with medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems.

• Working knowledge of generators, UPS systems, grounding, protection, and power distribution equipment.

• Experience evaluating manufacturing readiness, quality, capacity, or supplier performance.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with limited direction.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

• Working knowledge of common project management, ERP, and data analysis tools.

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices such as 5S, Kaizen, or Kanban.

• Data center experience is preferred, but not required.
