The Sales Specialist for Takealot for Business will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of the business by acquiring new customers and achieving sales targets. This position is responsible for identifying and targeting potential business clients, developing tailored sales strategies, and closing deals to expand the Takealot for Business client base

This position reports to the Head of Venture: B2B

Responsibilities

  • Identify and target potential business customers to grow the Takealot for Business client base. 
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed acquisition targets. 
  • Leverage existing market research and insights to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive opportunities. 
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking, and lead generation. 
  • Present and demonstrate Takealot for Business solutions to prospective clients, tailoring offerings to meet their specific needs. 
  • Work closely with the Head of Venture: B2B to align sales strategies with overall business goals. 
  • Continuously refine and optimize the sales process to improve efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. 
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to maintain a competitive edge. 
  • Work closely with the Head of Venture: B2B to align sales and strategies with overall business goals. 
  • Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, account activity, and market trends. 
  • Provide feedback to the product and operations teams to improve offerings and customer experience. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, etc.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Sales role, in a B2B environment. 
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing  accounts. 
  • Experience in e-commerce is advantageous.
